Radio Communications Technician

We are seeking a responsible and experienced Radio Communications Technician to join our dynamic and versatile installation and maintenance team supporting our radio and broadband systems.

Location: Granville NSW

Salary range: 60K Inc Super to 80K Inc Super

  • Monday to Friday 8 hours shifts
  • Afterhours scheduled/on-call
  • Weekend work as required

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Installation of two-way radio systems, wiring, cabling, labelling
  • Install and commission UHF, VHF, FM base stations
  • Installation, maintenance and management of Fibre Optic Cables, Ethernet, Wireless links for multi-site systems
  • Install, maintain and repair equipment on radio communications towers
  • Install, maintain and repair two-way radio systems in 12/24V DC vehicles
  • Software Configuration and programming of two-way radios, repeaters and base stations
  • Perform line of sight surveys, installation and configuration of microwave links
  • Use various PTP, PTMP antennas and active devices
  • Fault finding, reporting and data entry into the integrated customer service ticketing system
  • Perform testing of RF Systems VSWR, DTF, RL and PIM as required
  • Installation, predictive and active surveys of Wi-Fi 6, Wi-Fi 5 wireless access points
  • Use Microsoft desktop applications to design, plan and report work carried out
  • Travel interstate and work after hours to perform all the above work as required

Requirements:

  • Diploma-level qualifications in Electronics and Communications or similar
  • Minimum 4 years experience in similar role
  • Construction Induction Certificate (White Card)
  • ACMA Open Registered Cabler
  • Competent and Certified for working at heights and tower rescue
  • Demonstrated DC power systems experience
  • Hytera base stations equipment experience
  • First Aid trained with relevant certificates
  • Must be able to work unsupervised
  • Must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19
  • Ability to work weekends and afterhours
  • Proficient in English Language

Experiences and qualifications:

  • Knowledge and experience in implementing Wi-Fi networks
  • Drawing network schematics using Visio or similar
  • Experience in Fibre Optic and Copper cable OTDR testers
  • Forklift, EWP licenses
  • Manual Driver’s License
  • Test and Tag Certificate
