Always-on protection when your team can't be there

Businesses face real risks after hours: break-ins, false alarms, lone worker incidents and delayed responses. Leaving alarms to ring unattended is stressful and unreliable, and missed events cost time and money.

Metwide connects your alarm panel to SMC Monitoring, an A1-graded 24/7 control room certified to AS/NZS 2201.2. Operators verify events over dual-path IP and 4G signalling, then act on your Emergency Action Plan: calling nominated contacts, dispatching patrols or escalating to emergency services. One transparent plan at $39.95 per month.

Security control room with operators monitoring alarm systems

Why it works

A1-graded control room

Monitored through SMC, certified to AS/NZS 2201.2 and trusted across Australia.

24/7 operator response

Trained operators watch signals every hour of every day, 365 days a year.

Dual-path signalling

IP plus 4G failover keeps events flowing through power cuts and network drops.

One transparent plan

$39.95 per month, full monitoring, no tiered pricing to decode.

How back to base alarm monitoring works

From the moment a sensor trips, every step is verified, timed and recorded.

1. Event detected

A door contact, motion sensor, glass break, duress button, smoke or heat sensor trips. The panel registers the event and prepares to signal out.

2. Signal transmitted

The communicator sends the event over dual-path signalling: primary IP plus 4G backup. If either path drops, the other carries the signal through.

3. Operator receives

The signal arrives at SMC Monitoring's A1-graded control room. An operator opens the event with your site profile already loaded.

4. Event verified

Using sensor correlation, time-of-day context and optional video, the operator confirms whether the event is real. False alarms are filtered out before dispatch.

5. Escalation

The operator follows your Emergency Action Plan: nominated contacts first, then security patrol, then emergency services if the situation warrants it.

6. Incident report

The full event chain is logged and returned as an incident report you can use for insurance, audits and security planning.

Everything you need for confident incident response

Intrusion detection monitoring

Intrusion monitoring

Door, window, motion and glass-break sensors send events to the control room in real time. Verification rules filter false alarms before anyone is dispatched.

Fire and smoke alert monitoring

Fire and smoke alerts

Fire and smoke signals bypass non-critical verification and escalate immediately to your fire safety plan. The full timeline is logged for compliance.

Duress and medical alert response

Duress and medical

Panic buttons, duress codes and medical alerts route straight to the control room. Operators verify, call contacts and escalate to emergency services.

Video verification system

Video verification (optional)

Pair compatible CCTV so operators can check live clips on alarm. Video filters out animals and accidental triggers, and supports incident reports.

In practice: fewer false dispatches across a multi-site client

A multi-site commercial client had frequent after-hours alarm activations, repeated false call-outs and an unreliable picture of what was happening overnight.

After migrating to back to base monitoring through SMC with Permaconn dual-path communicators, verification improved and false dispatches dropped sharply. Response to genuine events stayed rapid. Every site now runs on the same 24/7 A1-graded monitoring, with a consistent incident trail the client can hand to insurers and auditors.
