Project Summary: Metwide Communications delivered a comprehensive turnkey solution for Watkins Medical, providing an integrated security system and Wi-Fi solution to ensure the security, connectivity, and operational efficiency of their new facility. The project involved the installation of access control, alarm systems, CCTV integration, and 10 high-performance Wi-Fi 6 access points to ensure seamless wireless coverage across the facility. The solution was designed to meet Watkins Medical's security and networking needs while ensuring ease of management through mobile applications and remote monitoring.
Scope of Works
Comprehensive project deliverables and implementation details
Access Control Installation:
Installed HID readers at key entry points to manage secure access for staff and visitors.
Fitted high-security door strikes on the main entrance and consult room doors, ensuring robust access control.
Provided custom-programmed key fobs and mobile keys for secure, flexible access control.
The system was integrated with the Inner Range Inception controller for centralised access management, enabling remote control and monitoring through a mobile app and web portal.
Break glass emergency buttons were installed for quick and safe exits in emergencies.
Alarm System Integration:
Installed and configured an alarm system integrated with the access control system. The system is set to disarm automatically upon authorised entry and allows remote arming and disarming via mobile devices.
Replaced the existing alarm control panel with the Inner Range Inception control panel, providing enhanced alarm management and reporting capabilities.
Installed a motion detector at the front entry for added security.
Wi-Fi Installation:
Installed 10 Aruba Instant On AP22 Wi-Fi 6 access points throughout the facility to provide fast and reliable wireless coverage for staff and visitors.
Set up a PoE switch to power the access points, ensuring efficient cabling and power management.
Comprehensive testing and commissioning were conducted to verify signal strength, throughput, and coverage across the facility.
Cabling and Infrastructure:
Installed Cat6 cabling to support the access control system and Wi-Fi access points.
The installation included sundries such as screws, clips, and saddles for neat and professional cable management.
System Configuration, Testing, and Training:
Configured the access control and alarm systems, including custom user access schedules and security protocols.
Comprehensive testing of the access control, alarm system, and Wi-Fi was performed to ensure full functionality and reliability.
Provided training to Watkins Medical staff on the operation and management of the access control, alarm, and Wi-Fi systems, including mobile and web-based remote access tools.
